A Dynamic Duo Comes to the Newton County Fair! PDF   E-mail

The concert for this edition of the Pun’kin Vine Fair will offer not one, but two of the hottest young talents in Nashville!  On Tuesday, July 13th at 8:00 PM, the Newton County Fair and Fair Oaks Dairy Adventure will present Luke Bryan with his special  guest, Justin Moore!  Both these young men hail from rural, small-town backgrounds and both are extremely talented, but despite the similarities, each will bring his own special brand of country music to this event

Luke Bryan

Luke Bryan’s 2007 debut, “I’ll Stay Me” unapologetically shared his own brand of traditional country music with a legion of fans.  His first album scored Top Ten hits with “All My Friends Say” and “Country Man”,  and this singer-songwriter also won

Music Row’s Breakthrough Songwriter Award.  With his sophomore release, “Doin’ My Thing”, Luke is sure to reach an even broader audience.  Luke, along with his co-writer/producer Jeff Stevens, challenged himself to top the success of the first album.  “We wanted to make a bigger sounding record.  We wanted to show my growth vocally and lyrically.”  This growth came from a solid touring schedule, performing with the likes of Kenny Chesney, Dierks Bentley, and Trace Adkins.  He loves spending time with his family and helping St. Jude’s Children’s hospital and the Make a Wish Foundation, charities he supports enthusiastically.  While his future dreams include owning a place near his hometown and “floating down the Flint River doing some fishin’”, he doesn’t plan on slowing down anytime soon.  “It puts me on a new playing field,“ Luke says of his highly anticipated second album.  “I’ve got a clear vision of my music and the fans that I want to reach.”  Those who will be attending this summer’s concert will certainly  be reached.

 Justin Moore

Joining Luke, Justin Moore will offer the audience music that defies boundaries and definition with its edge, attitude and instrumentation. “I grew up on old–school country, and I also played in a Southern rock band,” says Justin, who wrote nine of the 10 songs on his debut project.  His music is described as sitting at the crossroads of those two styles of country.  “Lyrically it’s pretty old-school country and melodically it’s a little more Southern rock edge.”  This young man, who left the small town where he had learned many lessons while feeding cattle, bush hogging the fields and sharing the deer blind with his grandfather, was inspired to write “Small Town, USA” an ode to the spirit and simplicity of small town life.  He wasn’t sure if the autobiographical song would speak to those from different backgrounds, but the fast rising song has become a Top 15 hit and established Justin as one of 2009’s break-out country artists, garnering attention from the media and landing him coveted spots on several tours and opportunities to open for Brooks & Dunn, Kenny Chesney and ZZ Top. “Moore’s take on the [small-town] theme is clearly resonating with country music fans,” states the Washington Post.
