Work for this event will begin with construction of the course. Over 300 truckloads of soil will be used to construct enough hills and gullies to challenge all comers. In other words, when the spectators arrive in the grandstand, they’ll see a whole new track and be right where the action is at race time.
For those unfamiliar with this sport, a typical day of racing includes a practice session starts in which riders are given a specified amount of time or number of laps for the opportunity to explore the track for the best lines and angles to enhance their performance. They also use this time to scout the other competitors and plan their strategies. Then the qualifying heats begin. Each of these races pits 10-15 riders against each other for a place in the semifinals, and ultimately, the main event. With all these riders jumping, landing and bumping for position, these heats are certain to be action-packed. At 7:00 PM, the main events begin with riders who have made it past all eliminations-- the best riders of the day. There’s sure to be spills, chills, & thrills when these riders go head to head (or bar to bar) for the prize money, the trophies and the pride so don’t miss this offering in the fair schedule on Thursday, July 23rd!.
