Newton County Fair Keeps Up The Pace

No need to travel a great distance to enjoy the great sport of harness racing as many of the finest Hoosier horsemen will bring their pacers and trotters to the track at the Newton County Fairgrounds.  On Saturday, July 9th, they'll be off and running; and this year's harness racing program promises to be as exciting as the past years'.  The placement of the Newton County event in the schedule of fair races around the state has the horses arriving well-conditioned and ready to run.  The combination of track conditions and the fitness of the horses could result in some new track records.

The number of entries has been steadily increasing along with the prize money, and this year should be no different. The total purse for the program of races is estimated at over $20,000.  The track improvements have done much to ensure an excellent racing surface and many owners and drivers are anxious to return to these facilities. After enjoying a Newton County welcome at the Hospitality tent, the drivers and owners will get everything ready to offer you some enjoyment -- the thrill of the traditional event of county fair harness racing. The program will not disappoint even the avid fan!

Plus, this will be the opening event for the new Newton County Fair Grandstands.  Come get your ticket to be the first occupant in one of the new seats.  Plan to bring the whole family for a day at the races on Saturday, July 9th.  Post time is 12:00 Noon.
